 Columbia Young Artists’ Club

The Young Columbia Artists’ Club is a program designed to encourage budding artists to express themselves and explore art concepts away from a formal classroom environment.

The Club will meet on Saturday afternoons from 2 - 5 pm at the Columbia Art League. The 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month will be for 2nd, 3rd & 4th graders, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month will be for 5th, 6th & 7th graders.

Each month students will explore a different topic, combining learning with creativity. Working with professional artists and art educators, each month's classes will explore a different genre through the student's own creativity and by discussing the work of famous artists.

Classes will run for 3 months in the Spring and in the Fall. Classes cost $40 per month (2 Saturday sessions) for CAL members and $50 per month (2 Saturday sessions) for non-members. All necessary art materials will be provided. Classes are limited to 8 artists.

Anyone interesting in signing up, should contact Amy Meyer: 573-443-2131 or calarted@centurytel.net.

From the ancient art of papermaking, to the Victorian Era art of Quilling, to the currently popular art of altered books, students will have the options of creating something uniquely their own.
